Learn How To Play Online Baccarat

Considered the simplest of all casino table games, baccarat is very similar in game play to its casino neighbour blackjack. There are three different versions of baccarat. The most commonly played, today is  known as North American Baccarat. Mini-baccarat, the most popular version at casinos around the world currently, is a form of North American baccarat. It has actually become difficult to find casinos that offer regular versions of baccarat today, at almost all casinos around the world the only version offered is Mini-baccarat.

The main difference between baccarat and mini-baccarat is the minimum betting limit.  The rules remain exactly the same, however. The game play is also significantly faster at mini-baccarat.

The main objective in baccarat is to have a hand as close to 9 as possible. Players must first choose the amount that they wish to bet on that hand and then select which betting option they would like to wager on. A player has three different possible betting options; player, dealer or tie.

A player selection bet is a wager that the player will have the higher hand, a dealer selection bet is a wager that the dealer will have a higher hand, and a tie is a wager that the dealer and player will have a tie – equal – hand value.

Once the player has selected the wager amount, placed a bet-player, dealer, or tie- play begins. The dealer and each player will receive two cards initially. In baccarat rules, the number 10 cards, along with all the face cards, count as zero. No hand can have more than three cards in it, either.

Betting with the player pays even money, meaning that if you bet £1 and the player wins you'll receive £1. Betting with the dealer pays even money, too, except that the house collects a 5 percent cut when a player bets on the dealer. Despite the cut, there is still a mathematical edge on betting with the dealer. Betting on a tie pays 8:1 but a player loses the low house edge on this bet.

The house edge differs depending on each individual casino and the amount of decks used during the baccarat game. This means that a casino that uses eight deck shoes versus a casino that uses one deck will influence the probability and house edge. The fewer the decks used, the greater the house edge is on player bets and the tie bet. For players seeking great odds with simple game rules, baccarat is your game of choice.
